Use your Pen Drive as a key to your PC/Laptop
Hi friends! Here is a nice trick for securing your Laptop or PC from
unauthorized access. Window stores its password in a file which it
uses at startup. We can store that file in our pen drive and use it at
the time of startup to open windows.
If your friend asks you for your Laptop and you don’t want to give
then don’t deny him to give Laptop. “Don’t give your Pen Drive
which is your key”.
Here is the way:
- Go to Run.
- Type “syskey” without quotes.
3. Click on Update.
You can select:
Password Startup: If selected, It will ask password while starting
windows
CASE 1-
For eg. - you have typed the password "CHETAN" during this
setup , then U have to give the same password ("CHETAN") , while
making any change in this setup
CASE 2-
System Generated Password: System will automatically generate a
password. Window will use it to get started automatically if stored
locally.
4. Our motto is to open through pen drive. So click on “Store
Startup Key on Floppy Disk”.
5. Give the password which you want to give.
6. Click on OK.
Remember, The pen drive in which you have saved this file will be
always required to start the system.
