Windows 7: how to change the user login screen

STEP 1 : Select the image of your choice which should be less than 256 kb and of jpeg format.

STEP 2 : Go to windows registry editor by typing “regedit” in search.

STEP 3 : Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
->SOFTWARE
->MICROSOFT
->WINDOWS
->CURRENT VERSION
->AUTHENTICATION
->LOGON UI
->BACKGROUND

STEP 4 : Now see on the right side, click on OEM BACKGROUND and renumber it to “1”.



STEP 5 : Click ok and now come out of the registry editor.
          Now its time to paste your favourite pic in the right directory.

STEP 6 : Now you have to go this directory
          C:\Windows\System32\oobe

STEP 7 : Now click on folder name “info” in it. If it doesn’t exist go on and create it.

Step 8 : Inside “info” , click on “backgrounds”. If its not there then create it.

STEP 9 : Inside this folder paste your favourite pic which should follow the above mentioned conditions that it should be of less than 256kb and of jpeg format.

STEP 10 : Rename it to “backgroundDefault”.

CONGRATS YOUR USER LOGIN SCREEN HAS BEEN CHANGED
